Egypt & Sudan: Following the Nile through Ancient Nubia 2024

A fresh and unique itinerary 100% overland that finally can be experienced thanks to the opening of the border between Egypt and Sudan! From Aswan, we will sail to discover Lake Nasser, visiting beautiful sites such as Wadi Es Sebua, Amada and Kasr Ibrim, with no tourists at all and far from any political tension in Egypt, until the beautiful temple of Abu Simbel. We will then cross the border to reach Sudan and continue with 4x4's along the Nile to admire and discover the beautiful archaeological sites of Soleb, Tombos, Kerma and also to see the colorful Nubian villages, the Nubian Desert and the Jebel Barkal with its polychrome tombs. We will then experience the Bayuda desert with its volcanic cones and nomadic settlements up to the astonishing UNESCO site of the Royal Necropolis of Meroe. In Khartoum, we will visit the Archaeological Museum and the huge market in Omdurman. Join us on this adventurous and pioneering route through Nubia and history and experience Egypt & Sudan at its best! ** Please note, given the exploratory and off-the-beaten-track nature of this tour, in some places a single, private room may not be available. However, at least two double beds per room will always be available. There will also be some necessary camping in comfortable and fully furnished tents in the deserts of Sudan, which highly add to the overall experience. **

Sierra Leone Encompassed: West Africa's Hidden Jewel

Once ravaged by poverty, civil war and Ebola (which the country is now 100% free of), little Sierra Leone has had more than a few challenges thrown its way. But through it all, the country has survived and rebounded to become one of the true shining stars of the West Africa region. Although relatively small, Sierra Leone encompasses a wide range of terrain in its borders. Rainforest, mountains, mangrove swamps, rivers and grasslands. Today this welcoming and beautiful English-speaking nation is thriving again, and is surely one of the most interesting and under-explored countries on the continent. With 400km of pristine coastline dotted with mysterious and tranquil islands, to the pulsating city of Freetown and the emerald-green jungles and mountains teeming with wildlife Sierra Leone deserves top consideration from any serious traveler.
